Preventing workplace aggression starts before an incident

Workplace aggression is a significant workplace hazard that affects the safety, wellbeing and confidence of workers across many industries. While many training programs focus on responding after behaviour escalates, preventing harm begins much earlier.

Trust Culture's workplace aggression and violence training combines workplace health and safety principles with evidence-based crime prevention strategies to help workers recognise changing behaviour, assess risk and make informed decisions before situations escalate.

Rather than relying on scripted responses, participants develop the confidence, judgement and practical skills needed to manage challenging situations safely while protecting themselves and others.

A practical approach to workplace aggression

When workers recognise the early signs of workplace aggression, they have more time, more options and a greater opportunity to prevent harm.

Our highly interactive training helps participants:

  • Recognise early signs of workplace aggression.
  • Make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Apply practical de-escalation strategies.
  • Maintain personal safety and professional boundaries.
  • Respond confidently to challenging behaviour.
  • Support a safer workplace culture.

Best suited for: Customer-facing, public-facing, service, community and other high-interaction roles.

The SAFE Engagement Framework™

Designed by former NSW Police Inspector Victoria Beresford, the SAFE Engagement Framework™ is the foundation of Trust Culture's workplace aggression and violence training. It helps workers recognise changing behaviour early, make informed decisions and respond safely before situations escalate.

Drawing on evidence-based crime prevention principles and workplace health and safety, the framework moves beyond scripted techniques to develop the confidence, judgement and practical skills workers need to recognise risk, prevent escalation and maintain their personal safety.

Training outcomes

By the end of this session, your customer-facing team will be able to:

  • Recognise risk early through Strategic Situational Awareness.
